How to Position Yourself as an Authority in Your Industry

I have the honor of joining 28 other high impact influencers in the upcoming “Influencer Now Summit” (on January 15th-20th), hosted by my wonderful friend and colleague, Cloris Kylie.

This is an opportunity to learn how to position yourself as an authority in your industry and grow your list, revenue & impact.

To help you keep track and get the most out of this event, Cloris just released the 2020 Influencer NOW Playbook (and you’ll get a free ticket to the Influencer NOW Summit upon sign up)!

Get it now by clicking here (the initial event is over, however you can still access the evergreen program by purchasing it).

On another note, I’ve created a Facebook group where authors, indie-publishers (and anyone else interested) can go when they need answers to their publishing questions.

The name of the Facebook Group is: “Publishing Made Simple”

Actionable List Building Strategies for Building Your eMail List

It’s been proven that engaging with your list can be far more effective then relying on social media platforms. However, depending on the genre and type of audience, social media platforms could be more effective then connecting with your audience via eMail. However, that’s not common.

Your “List” is YOUR audience, YOUR readers, YOUR fans, YOUR subscribers, YOUR potential clients/customers, and ultimately YOUR clients and customers.

One of the cornerstones of your success, as an author or indie publisher, is building your email list.

What is exciting is that my friend and mentor Navid Moazzez, will be hosting an epic online event of the year – List Building School 2.0. As a surprise, he has just released the “2019 List Building Playbook PDF Guide” which includes a handful of the best and most actionable list building strategies that work right now, strategies for building, growing and monetizing your email list.

So whether you’re a brand-new author, indie publisher or a long-time online business owner/operator, you’ll find tons of great ideas and actionable info from world-class entrepreneurs and email marketing experts such as Neil Patel, John Lee Dumas, Kimra Luna, Nathan Barry, Stu McLaren, Ryan Levesque, Jennifer Allwood, Rachel Pedersen, Suzi Whitford, Jennifer Kem, Steve Olsher, Courtney Foster-Donahue, Molly Mahoney, Brennan Dunn, Kary Oberbrunner and many more.

This guide includes a handful of the best and most actionable list building strategies that work right now.

And when you download the 2019 List Building Playbook, you’ll get an incredible bonus. You’ll get a free ticket to List Building School 2.0 Virtual Summit!

Createspace is NO LONGER Accepting New Accounts

As many of you are now aware, Createspace is merging with KDP – that announcement was made official from KDP’s website on August 27, 2018.

You will find mention to that announcement in the url below (you may also reference the attached image below):

Createspace To Merge into the KDP Platform

What I’ve been talking about for a VERY, VERY LONG TIME … and now it’s “ALMOST” official. Ha,ha!

(c) Eric Van Der Hope – www.ericvanderhope.com

There is no official announcement from Amazon (the parent company) yet, BUT there is an official announcement from Kindle Direct Publishing (via their website):

“CreateSpace books are moving to Kindle Direct Publishing”

https://kdp.amazon.com/en_US/l/print-on-demand

“We’re excited to announce that CreateSpace is combining with Kindle Direct publishing (KDP), making KDP the single place to publish your print and digital books. This move will allow us to focus our efforts and innovate faster for authors, publishers, and customers.

Once the move is complete, CreateSpace members will be able to access the same great features they use today on KDP, as well as features unique to KDP. CreateSpace and KDP will continue to operate as a single team. Paperbacks will continue to be printed in the same facilities, on the same printers, and by the same people.”

The following website url on KDP informs users that CS is merging into KDP Print (this page specifically explains the Createspace/KDP merge and what to do):

“CreateSpace and KDP to Become One Service”:

Some of the info you’ll find there:

  • Before you move your books to KDP (Our tips for preparing for the move)
  • How to move your books to KDP (video tutorial)
  • After you move your books to KDP
  • Differences between CreateSpace and KDP
  • Common tasks on KDP
  • Frequently Asked Questions like: moving your books from CreateSpace to KDP, Royalties, sales, rank, distribution, taxes, Customer support

More KDP Print timeline info and other “stuff” can be found in previous articles of mine:

I’m not really surprised that Amazon hasn’t “come out” to announce this. I’m mean really … this is a big thing! Amazon’s POD “arm” is now merging with Kindle Direct Publishing – all will be under that specific brand now, which makes a lot of sense if you think about it. But technically, Amazon HAS officially announced the merge, but have done so under their other brand: KDP.

I’m sure there’s going to be lots of questions & concerns related to this transition as well as the basics of it all, like: “How do you get started!?”

Well, I’ve decided to create a Facebook group where authors, indie-publishers (and anyone else interested) can go when they need answers to their questions.

The name of the Facebook Group is: “Publishing Made Simple

https://www.facebook.com/groups/publishingmadesimple/

You are welcome to join me and hopefully many other indie publishers who will probably be just as excited and nervous about these changes as me … ha!

I’ve already transferred over all my books to KDP Print successfully, with no interruption of sales since the Amazon Listings were NOT affected during the transition.

Hope you find this information helpful.
