How YOU Can Become An Authority in Your Niche
I realize that each and every one of you are busy and your time is very valuable, so I’ll do everything I can to provide you with information that you can take with you and use in your business right away! So before I even get started I’d like to thank you ahead of time for investing your time reading my blog and I sincerely hope that you will be able to implement some of what I’m sharing with you in your business.
So for those of you who may not be familiar with who I am, let me introduce myself . . .
My name is Eric Van Der Hope and I’m an International Best-Selling Author, a Publishing and Book Marketing Strategist, Business Consultant, Speaker, Venture Capitalist, Real Estate Investor and the list goes on! Suffice I should say that I’m an entrepreneur looking for opportunities to help better myself, to search and find ways to help others and ultimately to experience success and enjoy the results of what comes from that in everything I do 🙂
How did I get started in business and how did I get where I’m at now . . . ?
Basically what started as a hobby (1 of my hobbies) developed into a business that I currently own and operate.
I’ve always had the spirit/enthusiasm to make a profit, from when I was young kid trying to sell lemonade to my neighbors to selling the toys I no longer played with. After considerable schooling in countries such as New Zealand and England I learned about personal development, resposibility and leadership. After working 9-5 jobs in the healthcare field as well as in the civil engineering and structural engineering fields I decided to proudly serve my country by joining the Unites States Navy.
A year before a successful tour in the military ended, I started seriously looking into small business, personal development and investment opportunities. I started investing in several well established companies and began listening to and putting into action many of Anthony Robbins lessons and advice.
I think my first introduction to business online prior to me thinking about publishing online was after seeing some of the marketing material that the late Corey Rudl was teaching back in 1998!
It was really fascinating when I first saw it but didn’t really get serious about it until I finished my military obligations!
About a year or so later, I stumbled upon Frank Kern, the ‘Yoda-master of Mass Control’ afterwhich I met and became a student of Shawn Casey (a great teacher and mentor, and known for making millions through Joint Ventures).
After getting mentored by Shawn I quickly started learning about affiliate marketing and began developing my own business.
I started buying ad space in eZines (electronic newsletters, like top sponsor ads, bottom sponsor ads, solo ads etc., successfully promoting affiliate products.
As time went on I quickly caught on & decided to provide this service myself . . . and since I was already familiar with Solo Ads, Top Sponsor Ads, and so forth it didn’t take much to start turning a profit. That’s when I decided to start my own eZine publishing company and from that point on I regularly published my own eZine/newsletter.
As my business grew, I learned of additional ways to grow my subscriber base.
I began attending as many marketing events as possible in order to talk about and team up with partners (Joint Ventures) but also to spend time around people wanting to do more in their lives.
As a result, I’ve been to countless seminars where I’ve been fortunate to meet some of the most influential marketers on the planet!
Some of these wonderful people I’ve had the opportunity to meet, talk with & learn from include Ted Nicolas, Mark Joyner, Mike Litman, Corey Rudl, Armand Morin, Derek Gehl, Alex Mandossian, Glen Hopkins, Alexandria Brown, Dr Mani Sivasubramanian, Duncan Carver, Frank Kern, Shawn Casey, Yanik Silver, George McKenzie, Jason Cox, Joe Vitale, Joel Christopher, Ken McArthur, Leslie Householder, Matt Bacak, Mike Mograbi, Patric Chan, Rick Beneteau, Ryan Deiss, Joe Sugarman, Declan Dunn, Tom Wood, Tom Antion, David Garfinkel, Carl Galletti, Raleigh Pinskey, Dan Janal, . . .
As time progressed, I had co-written and partnered with several established and trusted marketers on several book projects.
A year or two later I chose to get out of the internet marketing scene for a while and decided to concentrate on small targeted niche markets & as a result started developing little-known ‘virtual real estate’ properties in a variety of different markets.
After successfully profiting in several niche related markets I decided to write about it. After telling myself the obvious, that a large part of the population still read ‘physical’ books, duh . . . !! I decided to convert my digital books into physical books. From there, the rest is just a blur as my publishing business grew after I decided to publish physical books.
As my publishing business grew, so did my other interests. Thus I began getting more involved as a Publishing and Book Marketing Strategist and began speaking and teaching others about my experiences and how they also could do the same thing but do it in a much more linear direction and more quickly without making the same mistakes I made on my journey through it all!!
I realized early on that the publishing process can be alot less confusing, more stream-lined, much less expensive to accomplish and much more profitable than what Traditional Publishers make it out to be!
Let me let you in on a little secret that the Big Traditional Publishing Houses don’t wan’t you to know about . . .
Is it possible to publish a book, get it listed for sale and into major distribution channels within 3 to 7 days, and in the processs help improve the environment in return . . . ? Absolutely . . . !! No longer do you have to wait 1 to 2 years for your manuscript to be even reviewed – let alone actually published. Own the rights to YOUR book, publish what YOU want, not what someone else wants, and substantially increase your profit margin.
There are literally over a hundred benefits to publishing your own book, but we’ll pay particular attention to a couple of them in the next topic . . .
Within the next couple days I’ll provide you with your first Publishing Lesson:
