Just a couple days ago (around July 12 – July 14, 2021), KDP added a new marketing tool to the KDP interface. It’s called A+ Content. It’s NOW available to KDP users. You can access the feature from a couple different places from within your KDP dashboard which I’ll share in a moment.
So what’s A+ Content?
It’s a feature that you can put on your book’s Amazon Product detail page which will help enhance the book listing. The feature allows you (the author/publisher) to add modules to the Amazon page, which gives you the ability to add marketing content to your listing to help sell your book. It can include pictures of your book interior, some sales copy mentioning the benefits of your book, endorsements and or quotes from influencers, etc. Basically, this feature helps by adding credibility, authority, social proof, etc., to motivate potential customers to become buying customers.
KDP explains A+ Content as the following:
“A+ Content allows you to add images, text, and comparison tables to your Amazon detail page to engage readers and give them more information as they consider buying your book. Add A+ Content to your detail page to make your book stand out, connect readers with your books, and share more about your author story”
Until NOW, this feature was only available if you had an account with Amazon Advantage or Amazon Vendor/Seller Central (although you’d have been required to have a registered your company as a brand, in other words having a trademark on your logo).
If you aren’t familiar with where the A+ Content would appear on the Amazon book listing, it’s located below the “From the Publisher” section. This exact location can vary depending on the marketplace you are looking at the book on, and most of the time readers will need to scroll down the Amazon book page to view the content.
Here are some examples of how some authors and publishers have integrated the A+ Content on their Amazon Book Detail Page…

Here are answers to a few FAQ’s from KDP’s website:
Q: To which detail pages can I add A+ Content?
A: A+ Content is available for published KDP books. You can create one A+ Content project and apply multiple book ASINs to it, to add A+ Content to different format detail pages.
Q: Which Amazon marketplaces support A+ Content?
A: A+ Content must be created and published in each marketplace where you would like it displayed. From kdp.amazon.com, you can publish A+ Content in these marketplaces: Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.com.mx, Amazon.com.br, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.in, Amazon.it, Amazon.nl, Amazon.com.au, and from kdp.amazon.co.jp you can publish A+ Content in Amazon.co.jp
The languages that A+ Content can be published in vary by marketplace. After A+ content is published, if your book is available in multiple marketplaces, we identify other marketplaces that support the language of your A+ content and copy a draft of that content into the applicable marketplaces where your book is live. Readers will see A+ Content depending on their language of preference. For example, if you publish A+ Content in Spanish on Amazon.com, only shoppers with Spanish as their language of preference on Amazon.com will see the content. Q: Can I add A+ Content to my book’s detail page before the book is published?
A: No. But you can add A+ Content to the detail page of Live titles and pre-orders.
Q: How long does it take A+ Content to appear on my detail page after it’s published?
A: All content in compliance with our A+ Content Guidelines will appear on your detail page within eight business days. If your content requires changes, we’ll send you an email with further instructions.
This was a long time coming and a feature that wasn’t widely available to authors and indie-publishers. Now it’s an available feature for all authors and indie-publishers using Amazon’s KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) platform.
